"Roman Boyko"

Roman and Frania were married in Galicia province Poland, before immigrating to Winnipeg Canada in 1901.  Two years later they moved west and acquired a homestead near Sheho Saskatchewan.  Sheho was at the end of the BLANK rail line, so many early settlers took quarter sections nearby.  In the spring of 1906 Roman and Frania started on their second homestead at Copeland on SE.28.30.18.  Roman's brothers Anton and Charlie later joined them there. Roman was a blacksmith and steam engineer on trains before leaving the Ukraine, so it was only logical that he and his brothers would be the first in the Copeland district to own a Case steam threshing outfit.  That was in 1908.

I only have one entry in my diary referencing the Boyko family.  On Friday June 9th. Mike Boyko ................................
