Funeral of Annie Fennemore Downing

The passing of Annie Fennemore Downing, age 100 years, of the Lutheran Sunset Home, Saskatoon occurred at her residence on Friday, June 22nd, 1990.  Mrs. Downing was born in Coventry, England February 18th, 1890.  She came to Canada at the age of seventeen in 1907, first to Indian Head, Saskatchewan moving to Dafoe in 1908.  Annie married her late husband in 1912 and they moved to Luseland in 1912.  Moving to rural Saskatoon in 1919 and into Saskatoon in 1941.  They moved back to Rural Saskatoon 1968.  Mrs. Downing has been a resident of the Lutheran sunset home since 1974.  Surviving are two sons, Reginald J. (Susan) Downing of Rural Saskatoon; and Wesley A. Downing of San Diego, California; and one daughter, Viola (Alvin) Waldner of Rural Saskatoon.  Also seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.  Mrs. Downing was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Robert Downing in 1962; three daughters; one infant daughter in 1912; Edith in 1921; and Mabel (Clarence) Hatton in 1947.  The family would appreciate donations to the Lutheran Sunset Home, 1212 Osler Street, Saskatoon, rather than floral tributes.  The Funeral Service will be held from the Chapel of McKague's Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, June 26th, 1990 at 1:30 P.M. conducted by Dr. Alan Minarcik.  Interment will follow in the family plot Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.  Guest parking directly south of Mckague's Funeral Chapel, Third Avenue south and 20th Street.
