George Fennemore

My dear friend and mentor, George Fennemore started his homestead on SW.28.30.18 in May of 1908, and after much hard work, received his patent deed on September 21st. 1911.  George immigrated from England with his Aunt and Uncle Jim & Eunice Fennemore in 1906 and later accompanied them to the Quill Plains.  He sold the homestead to Jack Smith in 1915 and purchased SE.15.31.18 from the Saskatchewan Valley Land Company.  This was quite unique, as I was born June 29th. 1915 on section 10, which was directly across the road from George's new place.  He was also the same age as my father David.

Early in 1925 Agnes Traquair decided that George needed a wife, so she invited Isabelle Patterson "Bella" over to meet George.  Bella was a Scottish girl who had just immigrated from Dunbarton Scotland.  The blind date worked, as they were wed later that year.

As George and his Uncle Jim had played in a band in England, George decided to organize a local band with young men from the Foote-Copeland area.

Dear friend George was a pallbearer at my mothers funeral on September 20th, 1939.  George and Isabella sold SE.15 in 1947 and moved to 510 Ave. I South in Saskatoon.

I mention the Fennimore family 18 times in my 1933 diaries.
