cousin Dorothy was born one year after me at Nanton Alberta in 1916.
Her dad John and his brother Charlie had acquired homesteads near Shamrock Sask. after moving
from Peterborough Ontario in 1910. A year later, John married Dorothy's
mother Annie Slade while working temporarily at Nanton Alberta as a plumber and
tinsmith. They had met previously at Lakefield Ont. Dorothy had an
older brother Clifford and younger brother Royal (Roy), whom she schooled with
at Shamrock's Bolingbroke school.
