Caroline McAdam (nee Gunn)
In 1933 my mother's sister Caroline,
affectionately know to my brother Clarence and I as Aunt "Carrie" lived at
Winnipeg Manitoba with her husband William (Uncle Will). He was a
shipbuilder in Glasgow Scotland before immigrating to Canada. Will and
Carrie were married on March 6th, 1901 at Revelstoke British Columbia. I
think they eloped via the CPR railway from Winnipeg. They use to visit our farm for a few
weeks almost every year just before harvest season with their two children
Lennox and Millie. Cousin Millie later married William McGibbon and
continued to sojourn to Saskatchewan each summer. Lennox married Zella
Messett in Winnipeg, who bore a son Donald in 1938. Aunt Carrie died on
November 25th 1942 at Winnipeg. |
