"Bernard Smith"
.....................Need to Re-Write.................

In 1933 the Smith family were well know to the farmers in the area as Bernard was the farm machinery agent in Dafoe.  He also started a very successful automotive garage with Tom Bolt, where they fixed and sold cars and gasoline.

Born in 1887, Bernard had earlier (1912) homesteaded in Biggar Saskatchewan after working for his brother Stan Smith and Harold Evans in 1910/11 at Copeland.

In 1920 he farmed the West half of 33.31.18, then later moved to Dafoe and married Bessie Crozier in 1930.  Bernard was 46 years old in 1933 when he lost his new daughter shortly after birth and soon after Bessie his wife of three years died of childbirth complications.  In 1940 he moved to Regina and married Alma Cowan.

Bernard was Stan Smith's brother and Joker Smith's Uncle.
