March 14th. 1972 page 22

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Eva Elizabeth Sparrow, 83, a long time resident of the Dafoe district, was held in the Foote Copeland United Church on March 8, with internment in the Copeland Cemetery.  Narfason's Funeral Home was in charge.  Rev. Doug Kaufman officiated.  Mrs. Harvey Froats was organist with the choir in attendance.  Pallbearers were Dafoe neighbors: Bob Thornton, Alan Brooks, Fred Chapman, Carl Olafson, Ron Blyth and Doug Smith.  Mrs. Sparrow, nee Eva Elizabeth Armstrong, was born in Mt. Forest, Ont., on August 28, 1888.  On March 8, 1916 she married Amos C. Sparrow of Bolton, Ont., and they moved west to his homestead 10 miles south of Dafoe.  In 1918 they moved to the present farm five miles south of Dafoe.  Mrs. Sparrow took and active part in all the community affairs, especially the Foote Copeland United Church, where she was organist for many years, and its Ladies Aid, of which she was a charter member and served in all its offices and held the position of Secretary Treasurer for 25 years only giving up the book this past January due to failing health.  She will long be remembered for her crochet work, especially the "rose" pillowcases which were her specialty.  Following a five week illness and major surgery, she died March 4 in the University Hospital Saskatoon, where she had been transferred from the Wynyard Hospital.  Predeceased by her husband in 1931, she is survived by one daughter, Jean Pollon, and one son Bill Sparrow, both of Dafoe; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
