Robert Whitelaw
Although I did not mention the Whitelaw family in
my diaries, I have included Robert here because on May 28th., 1910 he signed a
Sworn Statement along with John Holizki to show that my father David had met the
qualifications to receive his homestead patent for NW.16. Robert
homesteaded with his brother George on
NW.4.31.18 only 1.5 miles south of
dad's place on 16. At the time, Robert was a trustee of the Copeland
School Board along with D. S. Fish. His Daughter Josephine was in the
first class of Copeland School after it was built in 1908. Dave Thornton
bought this quarter from George Whitelaw in 1913 when Whitelaw's moved back to
Manitoba. |
